their fathers’ house
Installed at the La Jolla Historical Society
wood, archive materials, clamps, shims, cremains
2022
Included in an exhibition curated by Elizabeth Rooklidge at the La Jolla Historical Society in 2022 titled Memory Traces, this work used a 1989 outdoor modern sculpture exhibition held in La Jolla Village as its conceptual foundation. Exploring the intersection of sculpture, the home, personal narrative and the history of the gallery building itself, their father’s house was a temporary site-specific installation that took the form of a portable version of an Eduardo Chillida sculpture that functioned as a repository for archive material.
